Unit 8

1. Review the exercises and practice sessions you have completed in this course. (Loving Kindness, Subtle mind, Visualization, meditation etc.) Choose two practices that you have determined to be most beneficial. How can you implement these practices in your personal life to foster “mental fitness”? Provide specific examples.

The two exercises that I find to be the most beneficial are the Loving Kindness because it teaches you that before you can truly love others you must love yourself.  Also the visualization because it allows you vision your greatest moments in your head.  I can implement these practices in my personal life by loving myself completely and fully in order to be able to completely and fully love others.  Also when I’m having a bad day I can think back on the times that made me happy and turn my bad day into a good one

  1. Hello Yolanda,

I love this exercise as well. It is so true that you can't know how to love others until you know how to love yourself. When we don't love our self, we don't allow others to love us. We push them away and feel more negativity. When we love our self, we love others fully which reciprocates love unconditionally. Love does make the world go round! :-)

  2. Hello Yolanda!
I chose the Loving-Kindness exercise as well. Visualization is also a good one to use. For my second practice I chose the subtle mind exercise. I find that it helps relax me. When I am anxious I just focus on my breathing and I really am seeing a difference in how I feel. I agree, you can't really truly love without first loving yourself. These weeks are flying by aren't they!? Have a good week!
